More St. Patrick's Day Fun

Carter's school celebrates St. Patrick's Day with a parade around the block. His entire class wore green tye-dye shirts and then they said that the kids could decorate something to pull. Carter wanted to decorate his wagon to look like a firetruck. So the work began for mommy. Some of his classmates are gathered outside before the parade.
Here is Carter and some of his friends pulling the firetruck. The class is 13 boys and 3 girls, so the boys were thrilled.

Carter and his friend Smith. They were the line leader and door holder. Big jobs for 4 year olds.

It was a group effort for these boys.

In the afternoon was the class party. I was one of the parents helping with the party today. Here is a close up of Carter.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

Today was Columbia's St. Patrick's Day Parade, so off we went. It was a beautiful day and the kids had a great time. The local newspaper took our picture and posted it online and here it is. Not too bad, just a little windblown.

Carter waiting for the parade to begin.
There was alot of political floats involved and Carter got to enjoy lots of the stickers.

Time at the Zoo

The weather was pretty and Patrick had to work (on his birthday), so I took the kids to the zoo this morning. They had a great time. The big brother, helping Abby out.

Not sure what they are looking at, but it must be really cool.

Carter on the rocks near the penguin exhibit and Abby walking..

The baby giraffes. The one in the back is leaning down, but it was born 3 weeks ago. The other is 7 months old. Amazing.

Checking out the ostriches.

Carter looking at the elephants.

Abby being silly. She is really good at that.

Just Abby...

Just Carter.

Snow in the south

In the 10 years that I have lived in South Carolina, we have never had this much snow. We had 8 1/2 inches. It started Friday afternoon and continued through the night but quickly melted the next day. Here are some pictures of the fun. Carter playing in the snow, soon after it started...

Mommy, Carter and Abby in the snow. We did not really bundle up much, as you can see there was not much.

A close up of Abby in her second snow. It snowed in Indiana at Christmas. Neither time was she impressed.

Not a happy girl.

Carter and Mommy went outside once there was more snow. It was so funny, all you could hear outside were kids playing in the snow. We made a "Snow Blob". Carter did not really want to help me, he just wanted to knock things over, but I was determined to make one. This is the best I could do in the dark.

The next morning, we woke up to this out our back window. Carter quickly bundled up (thanks to Grandma getting him snow stuff in Indiana) and headed outside. He played for over an hour.

Carter happy in the snow.

Abby is 1 year old

It is hard to believe that it has been 1 year. Abby is growing and changing everyday. We had a party for her at our house on Saturday and are spending a low key day together today. Enjoy the pictures of our little girl.

Her birthday sign that I made for her.

We tried to take pictures of her before the party, but she had no desire to keep that pink bow in her hair. The birthday cupcake that I made for her. All smiles in her birthday outfit.

Happy little girl.

Abby with her own cupcake. She was not so excited. Later she tried to dig in with a fork.

Such a big girl.We had a great time at her party. She as a little overwhelmed and Abby tends to be a "mama's girl" and wants to be with me. Birthday morning her her jammies. We had the priveledge of having my sister come and visit for the weekend. Here she is with Carter before leaving. A "sister" photo before she left. We then took the kids out to lunch and to play at Leapin Lizards. Abby playing in the kitchen.Sweet face.Eating her lunch. What a cute look.Abby opening a present from Grandma. We saved a present and she liked opening alot more when less people were around. She was so cute. Our birthday girl on her new chair.
