Carving the pumpkin

Probably the most difficult experience of carving the pumpkin was trying to get Carter and Abby to take a picture together. They interact so much and like to tease each other that it makes for an enjoyable event.
Let's try it a little different.
Carter looks so grown up.
Abby loves this crazy pink pumpkin. She is still carrying it around the house.
Carter drew the face on the pumkin that he wanted and then Daddy went to work. I think that increased Carter and Abby involvement will be the plan next year.

So excited to see what Daddy is doing.
All decked out in their orange for the fun Halloween month.

McEntire Halloween Party

We always go to McEntire, the base that Patrick works at for the fall festival. The kids have a great time and there is always a hayride that is lots of fun.
Trying to get pictures of our mermaid and cowboy together was not an easy task.
Abby with one of the balloon creatures that she got before it got popped.
Outside on the hayride waiting to say trick or treat at all of the stops.
Our sweet cowboy. We did several activities this fall time, so I broke them into several small posts. More to finish up the month of October soon.

Boo at the Zoo

Isn't that cute... They both got fake teeth at one of the trick or treat stations and had to wear them...

Carter hanging out with the gorillas...
Abby and those crazy teeth again.

Abby checking out the goats. She would try to talk to them in a funny language. She likes the farm animals alot. A girl after my own heart...
Abby as a mermaid with the seaweed around her neck. She also has seashells in her hair. It definitely was not my finest sewing job, but it worked for Halloween.

The kids with their treat bags.

My Mermaid...
A handsome cowboy.
We had a fun time at Boo at the Zoo and I love it that the kids get to wear their costumes multiple times...

Picking out a Pumpkin

We went last week to pick out a pumpkin.
I really just wanted a picture with the kids but getting both of them to smile and look at the camera, while I am not looking silly is always a challenge.
Daddy and Carter taking the pumpkin to the car.
Abby posed on a pumpkin. She is getting so big.
Carter with a pose too.

Fall Fun

After Carter's birthday, we have been busy with fun fall activities. First was the SC State Fair. I have a new definition of a fair as there are few animals and it is just different than the good fairs in Indiana... The kids did have fun riding a few rides. Carter met up with a friend and they went on a few together.
Mommy got to do a big slide with Carter... It took your breath away to climb to the top and then did the same thing on the way down.

Abby did not want to do rides except for the "seated" ride on the merry go round. She was not made, she just did not want to do it.

Carter was all about a lot of other rides and had a great time.

Gotta love the happy boy.

It happens to be a month of birthdays and Abby went to one of the first ones for her friends. She had to be with the birthday girl and be with all her friends. She had a great time.

We also made a big move and mailed her pacifiers to the princesses. Abby was very attached to her paci's but helped wrap them up and put them in the mailbox. She really has not asked for them since, but has not taken a nap either... That is really the worst part of this whole thing. Abby used to love her naps...

Abby's class from school went to pick out a pumpkin and I went along to help. Here is Abby with her class and her friends...

So sweet.

Carter had a Harvest Happening at his elementary school on Saturday and we went and had a good time. I am working on learning all of these things about his school and how it works... Still learning.

Carter with one of his "prizes" on. He is getting so big.

More fun stuff this weekend, so I will post more soon.

Carter's Birthday Weekend

We had a fun start to the weekend with a soccer game. Carter loves playing and was lucky enough to score 4 goals on Saturday. He was all smiles and such a good sport... Love him.
Here he is with some of his teammates.
High fives and smiles after something at the game. This team has played together for 4 seasons and they get along great...
Then on Sunday we had a party with Carter's friends at the Little Gym. The theme was Captain America and the kids loves running around and playing... Here is the attempt at a group shot.
Carter and his friends. He was lucky enough to have 18 kids that came and helped him celebrate. In lieu of gifts, he had his friends bring toys for him to take to the Children's Hospital to donate to the kids there. So sweet.
He wanted to hand the cake out to his friends at the party. Such the helper.
All Smiles with his cake and Captain America water bottle.
The food and drink table with cake and snacks for the parents.
Carter blowing out the candles.
Mommy and Carter with me even wearing a Captain America Apron...
Abby and Neeley at the party with the girls. The girls kind of stuck together.
Carter ready to lead the fun.
Kind of scary, they all had noodles to run around with.
Fun with friends.
Some of the boys.
Carter and cousin Ian.
The shield cake that I made.
All the kids enjoying the cake... Can't believe tomorrow he will be 6... I am going to take brownies to school tomorrow so he can celebrate again...
