Christmas Cheer

We would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. We have been enjoying this holiday season and Carter is so excited about Santa. It is so cute. He fell asleep immediately tonight (Christmas Eve) so that Santa would be able to come. Abby does not have a clue but is excited for wrapping paper and being around people. We will be heading to Indiana to spend some time with my family, so we have a long drive ahead of us. Please pray for safe travels. It should be interesting with a 4 year old and a 10 month old.

As you can see Abby is growing by leaps and bounds. She is 10 months old and has such a personality. We have been battling ear infections and she just cut her first 2 teeth, so we are adjusting to her "new" routine. We took the kids to a train museum that had train rides with Santa. It was a lot of fun, but very cold. In the 30s which is really chilly in South Carolina.

We also went to Lights at the Zoo at our local zoo. We had a great time and Abby thought that it was fun to "dance" around when the music came on. Too Cute.

Carter giving his sister some loving. He is so sweet to her and hope they continue to have a neat bond.

Today, Christmas eve we made cookies for Santa. Carter decided that he would be "Chef Carter" for the day and even put on an apron that came in the mail this week from a grocery store. Abby joined in for the picture.

He rolled out the sugar cookie dough and used the cookie cutters. After they cooled, he decorated them with sprinkles. He was so excited to make them for Santa and his elves. You know that the elves come with him and then go get busy making more toys. Tonight he said that he needed to look out the window at the north pole with his magic eyes. Such an imagination.

We have had a full schedule with work and family get togethers which has made for a busy few weeks but enjoyable times.
Please enjoy the time with your family and have a wonderful Christmas.

More Christmas Fun

We have had a busy week getting ready for this holiday season. It was spent decorating for Christmas, we have 6 trees in our home and had a Christmas drop in on Saturday. I will post some pictures of the trees soon. Carter takes karate at his school and was able to go for his first belt. It was alot of fun to see him "in action" and get his yellow belt.
As you can see in all of the Christmas fun, we had the pleasure of putting our live tree up a second time. It fell over last week and Carter says that Abby was the culprit. Who knows, but the tree was down and 2 kids were just sitting by it after if fell. A few ornaments lost and now a little extra weight to keep in in place and we are good to go.

Carter is such a big boy these days and so excited about Christmas.
Abby is growing up so fast. She loves to just point at the lights on the trees and dances around when Christmas music is on.

Let the Christmas Season begin..

We went today to cut down our Christmas tree. This is a tradition that I have done my whole life and love doing with my family now. The weather was great and we had a great time. Enjoy the pictures. We have lots of fun things planned, so hopefully, I will update often. Carter and Abby in front of our tree. Yes, it was that high off the ground, a problem we had to fix when we got home. And yes, Carter is holding a toy chain saw..
Mommy, Abby and Carter by our tree.

Abby posed at the tree farm.

Carter found a tree and "measured" it like Mommy and Daddy do to make sure that it is the right size for our house.

I love this picture. Carter and Daddy off to find a tree.

Carter using his toy chain saw to cut down the tree. It told us that it was broken and did not work.

Carter and Abby with Santa. As you can see, Abby was not thrilled. Carter on the other hand, is all about Santa this year.

There's Abby.

This and That

We have had a busy few weeks. Abby is 9 months old now and moving all of the time. She has just gotten over an ear infection, so we had several long nights. Abby is a great sleeper, so this was a complete shock to our system. She is better now and maybe working on a getting a few teeth soon. Carter is still the best big brother and loves to just talk to her. Tonight, she was his patient and he came into the room with the stethoscope around his neck and wanted to know if she had any problems. Was she sleeping good? and does she eat enough fruit? It was so cute.
Here are a few pictures to enjoy.

The kids made the big car seat change. Abby is now out of her carrier and in Carter's old car seat but rear facing and Carter has a new booster seat. Carter now has a lot more freedom to help with Abby, which is wonderful for me. They love it too. Abby is moving a lot more and loves the dishwasher. Here she is helping out.

Abby loves her bath time.

Every Christmas since Carter was born, I have taken him to Build a Bear and we build a bear and then record his "voice" to go in the bear, so every Christmas, we pull them out and we enjoy haring the Carter sounds. This year is no different and Abby got to join in as well.

Carter loves his new moose that he made.

At this point Abby was done with the whole thing and would not even sit up. Here are the kids with their Christmas friends and their voices recorded for years to come. Sorry to jump ahead to Christmas, I will go back to Thanksgiving this week.

One last picture... This Abby "talking" on the phone to Grammy (her great grandma). She is listening so carefully.

Halloween week re-cap

We had a fun filled week prior to Halloween. After Hallowanka at the Children's museum, we carved pumpkins, went to Boo at the Zoo and then went to a Halloween Party at McEntire (where Patrick works). The kids had a great time. Please enjoy more pictures of our little butterfly and constuction worker.

Abby also got on the horse. She did not mind the horse at all but does not like merry-go-rounds. Go figure.

In closing, here is Abby at her My Gym class with her little toothless grin. She loves the tunnels.

Halloween Costume Fun

Last night we went to Edventure, the children's museum for some Halloween fun. The kids had a great time... Carter is so excited to be a construction worker and Abby looks so cute as a little butterfly. Pictures were a little tough at times for Carter because the flash and lighting would cause a reflection on his reflective vest.

Mommy with her little trick or treaters.. Have a great halloween week..
