Spring Break Fun

My mom and sister were planning on visiting during spring break and we were going to head to the beach.  However, my sister broke her ankle several weeks ago and was unable to put weight on her foot to drive or get around so we postponed the trip.  Instead, Patrick and I took the kids to the Great Wolf Lodge in Charlotte for a Spring Break Get-a-way.
 There was bowling.
 Donuts for breakfast.
 Mini golf pictures.
 Coloring
Water spraying in the kiddie area.
 Pictures by signs.
Jumping on logs and lily pads.
 More pictures by signs.
 Determined boys playing air hockey.
Little girls trying not to get her fingers smashed.
 More pictures with mom.
Cool kids playing mini golf and posing for mom.

Dad getting into the picture action.
Arcade games.
More pictures from mom.
Carter trying molten lava cake and loving it.

We had a great time and Carter loved going on the big and fast slides but Abby enjoyed the small slide in the kiddie area.

Easter celebrations

There are always so many fun things to do in the Easter season along with continuing to teach the kids about the real meaning of Easter.
We started out dying Easter Eggs.  The kids always have a great time with that.  As Abby gets older she always gets more excited about these activities.  She is our little artist and loves her "projects" so I think she would have colored eggs for days if I would have let her.

Abby had an Easter Egg hunt at her school.  She has such a sweet class and they had so much fun finding the eggs.  Sadly, Abby got a little frustrated that she did not get many.  She really was not very aggressive in the whole process.  Her "girly" self really shined that day.

The kids having fun opening their Easter baskets.
Carter is growing up so fast.  He stood still and did not argue with me to take pictures.
We took pictures before and after church.  As you can tell, Abby was not feeling it before but enjoyed herself much more when she could take off her tights and sit on Carter's skateboard.

Patrick's family came over for dinner in the evening and we had an Easter Egg Hunt.  The kids had a great time but we had to make it quick due to rain.

Each year, I take the kids to see the big bunny.  Abby really has never been a fan.  We talked it up big but this was as close as she was getting to that scary bunny....

Easter morning at church..  I think the sun was in her eyes.

Abby is 4...

Patrick and I were off on Friday so we took treats into Abby's school for her class.  She loves ice cream cones but not really the ice cream inside, so I made Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes...

Then on Saturday, we had her party...  She loves Doc McStuffins on Disney Junior, so a Doc McStuffins party it was...  She wanted all girls and she has 12 in her class, so we ended up having a fun party with 15 little girls...
Here is the entrance to Doc's clinic...  The girls went through the pink door to get their doctor's coats and stethoscopes...  I made them each stethoscopes..

Each got a doctor's bag to go home with...  Inside was a Doc McStuffins headband, a box of Doc McStuffins bandaids, and a Big Book of Boo Boos with crayons...

Abby with her doctor's coat on..
My niece, Neeley, in her doctor's coat and stethoscope..

The girls could color in the dining room..

Beads and Necklaces were in the kitchen..

Back in the clinic there was a lot of doctoring going on...

Abby's room was also a fun hang out spot...  13 of the 15 girls are in this picture...  The others were making necklaces at the time...

 Abby with her friends...

 Cake time...

Abby's friends sang Happy Birthday...  I love this picture of Carter...  He as a great big brother during the party...

Here is our ever silly birthday girl...  Can't believe she is 4 already...
